A male Great Pondhawk, shown below, was at the Higley Road Ponds on 29 August 2018. This may be the same individual as discovered by Jay Rock a few days earlier at this location. The species in Maricopa Co. is rare, with fewer than 10 records to date and where it was not observed until 2010 (http://azdragonfly.org/news/great-pondhawk-erythemis-vesiculosa-and-stri...).
